How to Sell on Amazon in 2023 - The Complete Step-by-Step Guide for Beginners

Getting Started with Amazon: Understanding the Platform

The first key step is spending time to understand the Amazon platform, especially if you’re new to ecommerce. Many people say they want to sell on Amazon without doing research to see if it’s the best option.

I recommend exploring other ecommerce options like Shopify before committing to Amazon. Shopify allows you to build your own online store where customers buy directly from you. Amazon is a marketplace where you compete with millions of sellers in one platform.

However, Amazon is the #1 most visited ecommerce site globally. If you can grasp the steps to succeed, you absolutely can build a profitable business on Amazon. Just understand the entire process so you start off strong.

You also need to research the different ways to fulfill orders. You can have Amazon fulfill your orders by shipping inventory to their warehouses. Or you can do it yourself and handle the shipping. Both have pros and cons so do your research to decide which method works best for you.

One final note - no matter which route you take, you’ll need to invest some money to start selling on Amazon. Many online businesses require little upfront costs, but selling physical products always requires some initial investment. I’m not saying you need tens of thousands, but have a budget ready between $500-$2000 depending on your product selection and business model.

Choosing a Profitable Product to Sell

In my opinion, finding a winning product to sell is one of the most important steps to building a successful Amazon business. If you sell the wrong products that customers don’t want to buy, you’ll waste time, energy, and money.

Product research is how you find items that:

  • Customers are searching for
  • Customers are buying
  • Have less competition
  • Have high search volume so you don’t compete with hundreds of sellers

I recommend using a product research tool called Helium 10 for Amazon sellers. It’s one of the best tools for finding profitable low competition products to boost sales as a beginner Amazon seller.

For example, you can filter products by:

  • Minimum monthly revenue (e.g. $10,000)
  • Price range (e.g. $15-$100)
  • Minimum review rating (e.g. 3.9 stars)
  • Maximum review count (e.g. 500 reviews)
  • Size (e.g. small standard size)

This shows items that are proven to sell in your target price range, have decent reviews/ratings, but don’t have tons of competition.

You can then verify this data by searching for the product keywords on Amazon yourself and using the Helium 10 browser extension. Sort listings by revenue low to high. This shows new sellers with low reviews but high monthly revenue, signalling a profitable product opportunity with low competition.

For instance, I found a lash extender product that makes over $600k monthly revenue and launched just 2 months ago. A seller with only 33 reviews makes over $12k monthly selling it. As a new seller, you could likely compete with low review sellers successfully with this product.

That’s the basics of using product research to find winning products to sell on Amazon! Sign up for Helium 10 using my link in the description to save on your subscription.

Signing Up For an Amazon Seller Account

Once you’ve identified a profitable product opportunity, the next step is signing up for an Amazon seller account to start selling.

The domain you sign up on depends on where you live. For example, I’m in the UK so I would go to Seller Central at sell.amazon.co.uk ↗. If you’re in the US, you would go to sell.amazon.com ↗.

You have two account options - individual and professional. If you’re new to ecommerce, start with an individual account to test selling on Amazon. Existing ecommerce sellers can use a professional account to expand to Amazon.

The main differences come down to fees and features. The professional account has a monthly fee but more features. The individual account just takes a commission on sales without many features. Consider the pros and cons before applying.

Finding Suppliers and Manufacturers

Once your seller account is ready, it’s time to find product suppliers and manufacturers. This is key to running a scalable and profitable Amazon FBA business.

There are many ways to find suppliers, but one of the most popular methods is using Chinese manufacturers and suppliers via websites like Alibaba.

Alibaba makes it easy to connect with thousands of suppliers globally. You can easily filter and identify reliable suppliers that are less likely to scam you. Avoid new unverified suppliers - look for companies on Alibaba for 5+ years that are verified by an audit company.

For example, if you search for “eyelash extension” you can filter by:

  • Verified suppliers
  • Years on Alibaba (5+ years)

This ensures you’re dealing with a legitimate long-standing supplier for your products.

You then contact suppliers by emailing them a standard set of questions to identify the best match. Important questions to ask are:

  • Do they accept PayPal? (Helps avoid scams)
  • Do they accept Trade Assurance? (Alibaba’s payment protection)
  • How long until you receive shipment?
  • Are they a manufacturer or trading company? (Understand who you’re dealing with)

Email numerous potential suppliers with these key questions to identify the best match for your Amazon business at the lowest costs.

Wait for Amazon Account Approval Before Ordering Inventory

This is one of the biggest mistakes I see new sellers make - don’t order inventory before your Amazon seller account is approved!

The approval process can take time and Amazon may ask for more documents or even reject your application for unclear reasons. That’s why you should wait for the green light before spending money on inventory.

Patience here prevents wasting money on products you can’t sell yet. Keep this in mind as you work on supplier logistics and wait for Amazon to approve your account.

Listing Your Products on Amazon

Once approved as an Amazon seller, you can start creating product listings and shipping initial inventory to Amazon’s warehouses.

If you opted for Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA), they will store and ship your products to customers directly once purchased on Amazon.

Your product listings are where you create titles, descriptions, images, pricing and more to promote your products to buyers searching Amazon. This is your digital storefront.

Make sure you:

  • Have high quality product photos
  • Write compelling titles and descriptions
  • Do keyword research to optimize listings for search
  • Take advantage of promotions like coupons and PPC ads
  • Closely monitor reviews and feedback from buyers

Continuously refine your listings to improve conversion rates and sales. Use tools like Helium 10’s listing builder to create optimized listings faster.

With your products listed and inventory at Amazon’s warehouse, sales will start rolling in automatically! Now it’s about scaling your product portfolio and managing the business.

Tips for Continued Amazon Selling Success

Here are some final tips for growing your Amazon FBA business after getting started:

  • Diversify into multiple products. Don’t rely on just one or two products. Build a catalog of complementary best sellers.

  • Consider private labeling. Sourcing custom branded products can be more profitable long-term.

  • Automate processes. Use Amazon seller software and tools to automate finding suppliers, managing listings, handling orders, etc. Work smarter, not harder!

  • Watch costs. Review expenses regularly and trim unprofitable spend. FBA fees, PPC ads, software costs, and more can eat into revenue if unchecked.

  • Provide excellent customer service. Go above and beyond to resolve issues, process returns, and make customers happy to earn loyalty.

Selling on Amazon is an incredible business model but requires hard work to be successful long-term. Use this guide to start off on the right foot! Let me know if you have any other questions in the comments. And don’t forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel for more ecommerce tips and training.

How I Built A Six-Figure Affiliate Marketing Business And Make $6900 Per Day

Have you ever wondered how people are able to quit their 9-to-5 job and make a full-time living through affiliate marketing? Well, wonder no more!

I’ll be sharing the exact step-by-step blueprint on how I was able to build a wildly profitable affiliate marketing business from scratch.

What is Affiliate Marketing?

Now you might be wondering - what exactly is affiliate marketing and how does it work?

Let me explain…

Affiliate marketing is when you promote a company’s products or services and earn a commission for each sale you refer.

For example, let’s say your friend is looking to buy a new suitcase for their next trip. You tell them about a suitcase brand you love called Away Luggage that offers high-quality and affordable luggage.

Away Luggage actually has an affiliate program that gives you a special link. If someone makes a purchase using your link, you’ll earn a 20% commission!

So you send your friend your special affiliate link and they end up buying a $200 suitcase using it. Away Luggage pays you a $40 commission for referring that sale!

That’s affiliate marketing in a nutshell. You recommend products you love to others and earn commissions when they purchase through your link.

How to Get Started With Affiliate Marketing

Now that you understand the basics of how affiliate marketing works, let’s go over the step-by-step process for getting started:

Step 1: Choose Products to Promote

The first step is finding products or services you genuinely like and believe will provide value to others.

Always put your audience first and promote things you would personally recommend to friends and family. Don’t just pick products that pay the highest commission.

Some great products to consider promoting include:

  • Software services - Like email marketing platforms, website builders, CRMs, etc. These tend to pay very high commissions.

  • Physical products - Anything sold on Amazon, major retailers like Target and Walmart, or directly from a brand’s website. The commission rates are lower but the average order value tends to be higher.

  • Online courses & programs - Like masterclasses, e-learning courses, coaching programs, etc. These can pay hundreds or even thousands in commission per sale.

Promote things aligned with your interests and niche. As a dog owner, I might promote products for pet owners. As a business owner, I’d promote software and tools I use.

Step 2: Find Affiliate Programs to Join

Once you’ve identified products to promote, it’s time to find affiliate programs to join.

Many brands have their own “Affiliates” page on their website where you can apply to join. Simply search “[brand] affiliate program”.

Some examples:

Pro tip: The site ShareASale provides access to over 4,300 affiliate programs in one place. It’s a goldmine!

When you join a program, you’ll gain access to special affiliate links, promo codes, marketing materials, reporting dashboards and more.

Step 3: Choose Your Promotion Channels

Next, decide which platforms you’ll leverage to promote your affiliate links and drive traffic. I recommend starting with:

  • Your own email list - The most valuable asset. Send an email promoting your best affiliate offer.

  • Social media - Post your affiliate links on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, etc.

  • Your website - Write product reviews and tutorials to naturally insert affiliate links.

  • Influencers - Reach out to influencers in your niche and ask them to share your link.

Focus on the platforms where your audience is most active. Post consistently, provide value, and be upfront about using affiliate links.

Now it’s time to double down on driving targeted, high-intent traffic to your affiliate links.

Here are my top traffic-driving tips:

  • Create detailed, honest reviews of products you recommend so people feel informed before purchasing.

  • Share case studies and success stories around products to build trust.

  • Make comparison posts and “best-of” roundups showcasing multiple products or vendors.

  • Publish in-depth tutorials, guides and tips related to the product. Teach people how to use it.

  • Segment your audience and customize promotions. Identify your buyer personas.

  • Promote limited-time discounts and sales to create urgency. People love a good deal.

  • Retarget people who visited your links but didn’t convert yet through ads.

The key is providing a ton of value and building authority so people trust you.

Step 5: Track Performance & Optimize

Finally, dig into your affiliate program reporting dashboard to track key metrics like:

  • Clicks on your links
  • Sales generated
  • Commission earned
  • Conversion rate

Continuously test new links, creative, and promotion channels to see what moves the needle. Double down on what converts and cut what doesn’t.

This is how you scale a profitable affiliate business. Find winning formulas and then replicate them.

Going From $0 to $6,900 Per Day With Affiliate Marketing

Now that you understand the fundamentals of getting started, let me share how I was able to grow a wildly successful six-figure affiliate business making over $6,900 per day.

When I first started, I made the mistake of wanting overnight success. I had hopes of making $100k+ per month right away. Boy was I wrong!

I’ve learned that taking a “slow and steady” approach is best. Start by setting a goal to make just one affiliate sale per week. Then scale up from there.

It took me years before I was earning my first $100 a day, and over 4 years to start making serious 6-figure money.

Success doesn’t happen overnight. But it does happen if you stick with it.

The key things that allowed me to scale up were:

Finding High Ticket Affiliate Programs

The commissions earned on “low ticket” affiliate programs like Amazon Associates are pretty small.

Even if you drive a ton of clicks and sales for products $20-$200 range, you won’t earn much.

That’s why I shifted to promoting high ticket affiliate programs that pay $500 to $2,000+ per sale I refer.

Software services, online courses, and coaching programs can offer extremely lucrative commissions.

A couple great high ticket affiliate programs to check out include:

  • Impact - Access 18,000+ offers paying up to $2,000 per sale. My #1 recommendation.

  • PartnerStack - Leading SaaS affiliate program. Earn up to $1,500 per referral.

  • ShareaSale - Marketplace with premium affiliate programs. High payouts.

With just 5 sales a day on a program paying $500 commission, you’d earn $2,500 per day!

Creating Content For Ideal Buyer Personas

Once I identified a handful of profitable, high-paying affiliate programs to focus on, I got laser targeted with my content creation and promotion.

For example, I would promote Shopify as an ecommerce solution specifically to:

  • Aspiring entrepreneurs looking to launch online stores
  • Brick & mortar business owners seeking to expand online
  • Marketers and agencies managing client ecommerce stores

Those are the people most interested in Shopify. So I’d create tailored content guides around topics like:

  • How to start a profitable dropshipping business
  • Instagram marketing tips to promote your Shopify store
  • Building a 7-figure Shopify brand from scratch
I would then promote my Shopify affiliate link prominently within that content.

Creating tailored content for each ideal buyer persona is key. You need to really understand your audience and what motivates them.

Some other examples:

  • Promote Leadpages to people interested in maximizing website conversions

  • Promote Teachable to coaches and consultants looking to sell online courses

  • Promote AWeber to bloggers and business owners targeting email list growth

Always create content focused on helping people in your target personas overcome their challenges and achieve their goals. Then weave your affiliate link naturally into the content.

Leveraging Organic and Paid Traffic

Another milestone for me was ramping up both my organic and paid traffic.

On the organic side, I utilized SEO strategies to rank my affiliate content higher in search engines like Google.

This allowed me to get highly targeted organic search traffic interested in the products I was promoting.

I also doubled down on organic social media traffic by implementing strategies to go viral on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and other platforms.

Leveraging viral content distribution put my affiliate links in front of millions of people.

On the paid traffic side, I tested everything from Facebook ads to Google ads to native ads and more.

Once I found high converting traffic sources, I scaled up my ad spend dramatically. I was profitable because the commissions I was earning exceeded my ad costs.

This is a cash cow if you get it right.

By mastering both organic and paid traffic, I was able to massively scale up my referral volume and earnings.

Retargeting With Email and Ads

Another smart strategy I leveraged was retargeting people who visited my affiliate links but didn’t initially convert.

For example, if someone clicked my Shopify affiliate link but didn’t sign up yet, I’d add them to an email sequence with tips for boosting online sales, promoting offers and my link again.

This would often convert people who were “cold traffic” initially into buyers once they were warmed up.

I’d also build targeted advertising audiences of people who clicked my links but didn’t convert yet, then hit them with multiple ads across platforms.

Retargeting both through email and ads was hugely effective at boosting conversions.

Tips to Succeed With Affiliate Marketing

If you’re looking to get started with affiliate marketing and replicate my success, here are my top tips:

1. Provide genuine value first. Don’t be overly promotional. Establish authority and trust.

2. Be transparent about using affiliate links. Let your audience know some links are affiliate partnerships.

3. Promote affiliate links subtly. Don’t be pushy. Recommend, don’t demand people buy.

4. Track everything. Analyze your metrics to find what works and refine your approach.

5. Do long-term business with brands. Commit to promoting partners consistently over time.

6. Build an email list. An engaged subscriber list is the most valuable asset for promotions.

7. Follow up with retargeting. Market to previous website visitors and leads who didn’t convert yet.

8. Leverage influencers. Partner with influencers in your niche to expand your reach.

9. Diversify traffic sources. Don’t rely on only one channel. Test a mix of organic and paid.

10. Promote limited-time promotions. Leverage sales, discounts and urgency to boost conversions.

If you apply these tips and commit to the process long-term, you can absolutely succeed with affiliate marketing and achieve financial freedom.

The Best Ways to Start Dropshipping as a Beginner in 2023 and Earn $700 Per Day

Are you thinking about starting a dropshipping business but don’t know where to begin? With so many options to choose from, it can be confusing for e-commerce beginners to determine the best way to get started dropshipping. In this comprehensive guide, we break down the four main methods new entrepreneurs can use to launch their own dropshipping store and start earning up to $700 per day in 2023.

What is Dropshipping? A Definition for E-Commerce Beginners

Before we dive into the different options for starting a dropshipping business, let’s first clarify exactly what dropshipping is.

Dropshipping is a fulfillment model where store owners sell products to customers without having to stock or ship the items themselves. Instead, the store owner purchases inventory on-demand from a third party supplier or manufacturer, who then packages and ships the order directly to the customer.

The main benefits of dropshipping include:

  • Low startup costs since you don’t have to invest in purchasing inventory upfront
  • Easy scalability as you grow since fulfillment is handled by suppliers
  • Wide product selection from dropshipping suppliers and platforms

While dropshipping does offer some advantages, it also comes with challenges like lengthy shipping times, quality control issues, and lower profit margins. We’ll explore strategies to overcome these obstacles later in this post.

Now that you understand the basics of how dropshipping works, let’s look at the four main methods new e-commerce entrepreneurs can use to launch their own dropshipping business.

1. Retail Dropshipping with AliExpress

The most common entry point for e-commerce beginners is retail dropshipping using platforms like AliExpress.

AliExpress is a Chinese e-commerce marketplace with hundreds of thousands of dropshipping products and independent suppliers at wholesale prices. It operates similar to Amazon, allowing consumers to purchase products directly. However, the low prices and vast product selection make it a go-to supplier source for new dropshippers.

Pros of Dropshipping with AliExpress:

  • Huge variety of products to choose from
  • Low product costs mean higher profit margins
  • Easy to get started since no minimum orders required

Cons of Dropshipping with AliExpress:

  • Longer shipping times from China
  • Inconsistent quality between suppliers
  • Difficult to build a branded customer experience

We recommend AliExpress for beginners who want to test and validate product-market fit before committing to larger inventory orders. Use it to confirm your product sells before investing more into your e-commerce business.

Be cautious about building your entire business on AliExpress long-term due to the supplier unreliability. Focus on finding US or EU based suppliers once you’ve identified winning products to sell.

2. Using a Dropshipping Agent to Source Products

A dropshipping agent acts as a product sourcing middleman between you and the manufacturer or supplier. After you find a product opportunity, the agent will purchase inventory for you in bulk from suppliers, then ship orders directly to your customers.

Popular platforms like CJ Dropshipping operate as agents, sourcing products requested by store owners from Chinese manufactures and handling fulfillment.

Benefits of Using a Dropshipping Agent:

  • Gain a more personalized service compared to platforms like AliExpress
  • Work with a single point of contact for sourcing and shipping orders
  • Agents can help negotiate better pricing

Potential Downsides of Dropshipping Agents:

  • Limited product selection based on the agent’s supplier network
  • May have higher product costs than sourcing directly
  • Less order automation than integrated platforms like AliExpress

We recommend dropshipping agents like CJ for beginners who want to scale beyond AliExpress while still outsourcing the legwork of sourcing and shipping. Make sure to vet any agent carefully to ensure reliability.

You can also find individual sourcing agents on platforms like Alibaba to access wider supplier selection. Just keep in mind this route has less order automation.

3. Buying in Bulk from Suppliers + 3PL Fulfillment

As your dropshipping business grows, you may want to claim more ownership over your inventory, branding, and shipping. This next model allows you to buy products in bulk directly from suppliers, then ship to a 3PL (third-party logistics) company to handle fulfillment.

The steps for this dropshipping model are:

  1. Source and buy product inventory in bulk quantities from overseas suppliers, typically in China. Alibaba is a good platform to find suppliers.

  2. Ship the bulk inventory from your supplier to a fulfillment warehouse in your target market.

  3. Integrate your e-commerce store with the 3PL company’s software. As orders come in, they will fulfill them directly from your warehouse stock.

Benefits of 3PL Fulfillment:

  • Faster shipping times since inventory is stored domestically
  • Higher margins since you buy direct from suppliers
  • More control over product branding and customization

Challenges of 3PL Fulfillment:

  • Requires more upfront capital to purchase inventory
  • Must accurately forecast demand to avoid overbuying inventory
  • Slower to pivot if a product doesn’t sell well

We recommend exploring 3PL fulfillment once you’ve validated product-market fit and are ready to scale your dropshipping business. The upfront inventory investment is worthwhile to improve shipping times and establish your brand.

Be sure to thoroughly evaluate multiple 3PL company options, get quotes, and vet their capabilities before onboarding inventory.

4. Dropshipping from Online Marketplaces

E-commerce giants like eBay and Amazon also offer opportunities for creative dropshipping operations. The model looks like:

  1. List products for sale on your own online store.

  2. When you receive orders, purchase the item yourself from a seller on eBay, Amazon, or another marketplace.

  3. Enter the customer’s shipping address during checkout then select fast shipping.

  4. The marketplace seller will ship the product directly to your customer.

Dropshipping from marketplaces enables you to capitalize on arbitrage opportunities. If you find products priced lower on eBay compared to your store, you can fulfill orders through eBay and pocket the difference.

Pros of Marketplace Dropshipping:

  • Very low startup costs to test product viability
  • Faster shipping times using eBay/Amazon Prime
  • Lower risk than holding your own inventory

Cons of Marketplace Dropshipping:

  • Low margins since you don’t dictate pricing
  • No control over branding, packaging, or shipping
  • Doesn’t scale well long-term

We recommend marketplace dropshipping as a short-term tactic when testing new products or as a backup plan when suppliers run out of stock. Relying entirely on arbitrage long-term results in a flimsy, unstable business. Focus on migrating to one of the other fulfillment models.

Key Takeaways on the Best Dropshipping Models

Launching an e-commerce dropshipping business offers an alluring opportunity to earn passive income online. However, your chances of success largely depend on selecting the right fulfillment model for your current business stage.

The four main options each have their own pros, cons, and best applications:

  • Retail dropshipping (AliExpress) - Ideal for beginners testing product viability

  • Dropshipping agents - Helpful for scaling beyond AliExpress with a middleman

  • 3PL fulfillment - Best for established brands ready to invest in inventory

  • Marketplace dropshipping - Useful for short-term arbitrage but not a long-term solution

Make sure you select the right model to match your current business maturity and goals. A fulfillment strategy that works for testing products likely won’t sustain a full-fledged brand.

Dropshipping certainly provides a lower barrier to entry compared to traditional e-commerce. But branching out on your own still carries risk. Carefully validate product demand before overinvesting in inventory or other expenses.

Now that you understand the landscape of dropshipping fulfillment models, you can make an informed decision on the best way to launch your online business. Future guides will cover sourcing dropshipping products, calculating profitability, automating orders, and more.

Earn $600 In Just 3 Hours With This Google Maps & ChatGPT Side Hustle!

Generate income fast by optimizing Google business profiles for local small businesses. All it takes is a phone, internet, Google Maps, and ChatGPT to start earning hundreds per sale.

In today’s blog post I’ll explain step-by-step how to find potential clients, craft a sales pitch, provide services, and get paid using this unique business model perfect for anyone looking to make extra cash. Whether you need a flexible side hustle or want to build a location-independent business, optimizing Google My Business listings can be lucrative with the right approach.

Introduction

Making money online often seems too good to be true. Most side hustles and passive income ideas require significant upfront investment, take months to generate revenue, or rely on unreliable methods. However, by leveraging Google Maps and AI chatbot ChatGPT, it’s possible to earn $600 or more in just 3 hours from anywhere with an internet connection.

In this post, I’ll walk you through a proven framework for identifying and contacting local small business owners, convincing them your services are worthwhile, optimizing their Google business profiles, collecting payment securely online, and scaling up earnings over time.

With some hustle, basic digital skills, and strategic use of existing free resources, this is a reliable way to generate income quickly. If you need fast cash or want to build sustainable location-independent income, optimizing Google My Business profiles is worth considering.

Why Optimizing Google My Business Listings is Lucrative

Google My Business listings (recently rebranded as Google Business Profile) are essentially free local business directory listings verified by Google. When customers search for local services on Google Search and Maps, optimized Google business profiles stand out, driving calls, bookings, reviews, and new customers.

Ranking high in local search results is incredibly valuable, especially for service area businesses who rely on visibility to compete and attract new clients. However, many local business owners don’t realize the importance of search optimization or lack the expertise to maximize their profiles properly.

This knowledge and skill gap represents a big opportunity. By offering Google business profile optimization as a service, you can capitalize on desperate business owners willing to pay for help ranking higher locally. With the right sales and service delivery framework, it’s realistic to earn $300 - $1000 per client for a few hours of work.

Step 1 - Identify Potential Clients with Google Maps

The first step is identifying potential clients - local small business owners likely to need and pay for your Google business profile optimization services. The best way to find prospects matching this criteria is directly on Google Maps.

Rather than targeting large metro areas, focus on searching smaller cities and towns where competition is lower. Use Google Maps to browse local businesses categories like “plumbers”, “electricians”, or “house cleaners”.

Look for prospects that meet the following criteria:

  • No existing Google business profile
  • Incomplete profile missing key info
  • Low online visibility and reviews (under 10)
  • Not ranking on first page for relevant searches

Alternatively, if you speak multiple languages you can also search foreign locations. The targeting process is the same worldwide.

Take the time to compile a list of at least 10+ viable prospects before moving onto outreach. Also, gather key contact information like phone numbers, emails, and social media accounts to use during outreach.

Step 2 - Craft an Effective Sales Pitch

Once you’ve identified potential targets, the next step is contacting them to convince them to become paying clients.

Cold outreach is often the most intimidating aspect for beginners. However, AI chatbot ChatGPT makes crafting an effective sales pitch easy. Simply describe your business model and target customer to ChatGPT, and it will generate a customized sales script tailored to your needs.

Be sure to request an authentic-sounding pitch focused on resonating with business owners as fellow entrepreneurs, not a generic salesy script. Your outreach will be much better received if it leads with empathy and offers real solutions.

Here are some key points effective pitches typically include:

  • Introduction presenting yourself as a peer business owner
  • Discussing the value of search visibility and Google business profiles
  • Noting local competitors ranking higher through optimization
  • Offering customized solutions to help their brand be discovered
  • Free profile audit or discounted introductory service

With a compelling pitch, you’re ready to start contacting potential clients directly.

Step 3 - Deliver Services by Optimizing Google Business Profiles

Once a prospect agrees to hire you, it’s time to deliver results by optimizing their Google business profile properly.

If you’re new to Google business profiles, take Google’s free 1-hour optimization course on Skillshop to get a crash course overview before servicing clients.

In general, some key areas to focus on include:

  • Completing all profile fields (description, address, photos etc)
  • Optimizing content for relevant keywords customers use
  • Generating reviews and social proof
  • Monitoring and responding to insights
  • Correcting indexing issues
  • Creating posts to engage visitors

Go above and beyond to develop a comprehensive optimization plan tailored to the client’s specific business goals and needs. With some experience under your belt, you’ll get very efficient at identifying ways to optimize profiles for maximum visibility and ROI.

Deliver significant improvements that demonstrate you skill and add true value for clients. This will get them happy about hiring you and eager to leave positive reviews to help acquire more clients.

Step 4 - Get Paid Securely Online

Once you’ve successfully completed the agreed upon services, it’s time to get paid. However, asking business owners to pay you directly can seem sketchy or unprofessional early on.

Instead, have prospects pay through established freelancing sites like Upwork or Fiverr. These platforms add credibility to your services, offer secure payments, and help you scale your business over time.

Some tips for getting set up:

  • Build compelling service listings with optimal keywords
  • Showcase any testimonials or past work
  • Start with competitive but achievable rates
  • Offer packages at different price points
  • Focus on providing 5-star service

According to AI chatbot ChatGPT, competitive rates for basic Google business profile optimizations tend to range between $300 - $1000. With this pricing framework, you only need 1 or 2 clients per day to meet your $600 daily income goal.

Scaling Earnings Over Time

Once you’ve successfully completed a few jobs and earned positive reviews, focus on streamlining and scaling up your service.

Consider automating outreach with email templates and scripts. Develop service packages and products for common optimization tasks to speed up delivery. Raise your rates and graduate to targeting bigger metro areas with higher paying prospects.

If optimized properly, Google business profiles deliver ROI for years after initial setup. Consider offering retainers or monthly maintenance plans at premium price points for recurring revenue.

The income potential from this business model is truly uncapped. By providing high caliber services efficiently, you can realistically expect to generate thousands per month and eventually hire team members to scale exponentially.

Conclusion

Optimizing Google business profiles is a straightforward, real-world skill that local business owners are happy to pay for. With minimal startup costs and the right strategy, it’s possible to earn your first $600 in just 3 hours.

To recap, identify potential clients on Google Maps, craft an effective pitch, provide optimization services efficiently, get paid securely online, and scale earnings over time.

While not entirely “passive” income, this framework lets you earn great money on your own schedule. If you apply these steps diligently, you could realistically replace your 9 to 5 or at least earn a healthy side income from anywhere with an internet connection.
