The build vs. buy decision has changed. Running your own AI infrastructure used to be a reasonable option. Now you’re competing with hyperscalers for GPU allocation. The economics have shifted toward cloud AI services, but the strategic calculus has shifted toward dependency.

The infrastructure war isn’t your war. But its outcomes determine your capabilities.

The $700 billion bet is being placed by others. Your job is to understand what that bet means for your organization-and position accordingly.

The Longer View

Infrastructure investments have historically created periods of excess capacity followed by periods of constraint.

The companies that wait for AI to “mature” before investing will find themselves competing for infrastructure access in a seller’s market.


The infrastructure build defines what’s possible. The platform wars define what’s accessible. Your strategy defines what you actually build.
