Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing or KDP is one of the easiest ways to make money online. You don’t have to import products or store inventory. You can earn passive income by publishing low-content books on Amazon. Using tools like Bookbolt, the process takes about 30-40 minutes.
In this article, I will walk you through how to start earning passive income through Amazon KDP by following these steps:
##Step 1: Sign up for Bookbolt
Bookbolt is software that helps with the entire low-content book creation process from coming up with ideas to designing and publishing the book. You can sign up for a free trial through the link in the description.
Once logged in, go to the Research tab and click the Cloud section. Here you can research low-content book ideas that are selling well on Amazon. For example, if you want to sell journals, search for “journals” and Bookbolt will show books currently selling on Amazon along with information like their price, sales rank, monthly sales, and reviews.
Look for books published recently that are getting lots of reviews and monthly sales. For example, a “Manifesting Journal” published 3 months ago already has almost 600 reviews and the seller is making over $10,000 per month. This shows that manifesting journals are selling well, so you can create one yourself.
##Step 2: Create your book in Bookbolt Studio
In Bookbolt, click “Create” then “Bookbolt Studio”. Select the book type like paperback, enter your book name like “Manifesting Journal”, and choose a trim size by looking at the top sellers on Amazon. For example, the popular manifesting journal I found is 6x9 inches, so choose that size.
Leave the interior as black and white and the page count at 100. Then click “Create Project”. You’ll now design the front and back cover and interior pages. For a low-content book, Bookbolt does most of the work with a few clicks. The main work is just designing an eye-catching cover.
For a manifesting journal, search “stars” in the picture options and place an image on the cover. Add the text “Daily Manifesting Journal” and a related symbol. For the interior, click “Insert Pages” and under “Templates” search for “journal”. Select a gratitude journal template and click “Preview” to see date, quote, and gratitude sections for people to fill in. Click “Use Template”.
Bookbolt will ask which pages to apply the template to. Select “All” and deselect the cover. Leave the settings and click “Submit”. Your book is ready to download!
##Step 3: Download and upload your book to KDP
In Bookbolt, go to “Download” and select the first option to download a folder with files for your paperback cover and interior. You’ll upload these to your Kindle Direct Publishing or KDP account to publish your book on Amazon.
Sign up for a free KDP account. Upload your cover and interior files, enter information like the book title, description, trim size, and set a price like $10.99 by looking at competitors. Use the keywords tool in Bookbolt to find relevant keywords to include in your description and KDP keyword section.
Review your book preview in KDP to ensure everything looks correct. Then click “Approve” and your book will be live on Amazon for customers to buy! You can publish unlimited low-content books and with Bookbolt’s help, you’ll have a higher chance of success.
